Neve Paritzki Israel celebrates recordbreaking tourism entry From the United States
NEW YORK - Sept. 8 2022, /PRNewswire/ Today the Israel Ministry of Tourism revealed record-breaking numbers of tourists from the United States who visited Israel during July and August. The country welcomed 78,000 tourists from the United States during July 2022, an increase by 4% over 2019 and 71,000 travelers from the United States during August 2022. That's a 13% growth over 2019.
Eyal Carlin (North American Tourism Commissioner) said it was exciting to observe the growth in Israeli tourism coming from the United States. Already surpassing our record-breaking numbers for 2019, he added. "The United States is our most important destination for our inbound tourism to Israel. Before the COVID-19 epidemic, we had record-breaking numbers of tourists from Israel visiting Israel each month. We are extremely happy to have witnessed an improvement in the trend, and we expect this trend to last for many months and years."
Canada is also on track, just as the United States, to surpass the amount of tourists that visit Israel. In July 2022 Canada received 7,200 visitors and August witnessed 6,000.
Gal Hana, Consul for Canada and Director of the Israel Ministry of Tourism declared that "it's thrilling to observe the way that tourism in Canada is booming." We are still not away from our record-setting numbers for 2019, and we anticipate that this surge in Israel travel will continue to grow as Canadians feel more comfortable travelling abroad."
Israel welcomed more than 4.6million tourists in 2019 of which 969,600 came from the United States. Since May when the country was is now open to all tourists, regardless of their vaccination status over 600,000.400 US visitors have visited Israel.
