Neve Paritzki Israel Celebrates Record Breaking Tourism Entry Numbers United States

NEW YORK - Sept. 8th, 2022 /PRNewswirein July and August of 2018, the Israel Ministry of Tourism recorded record numbers of tourists arriving from America. The country welcomed 78,000 visitors from the United States for July 2022. This is a 4 percent increase over 2019 and 71,000 visitors from the United States for August 2022. This is a 13% improvement from the year before.

Eyal Carlin from North America was the Tourism Commissioner. "The United States is the leading market for Israel inbound tourism. Prior to the COVID-19 Pandemichit, we were celebrating record-breaking figures of tourist entry every month. It's a great positive trend that we're pleased to witness and expect an upward trend for years to be."

Canada, not too far behind that of the United States of America, is set to beat the tourist numbers to Israel. It had 7,200 visitors in July 2022 as well as 6,000 August.



"It is exciting to see how tourism from Canada to Israel is rebounding," said Gal Hana, Consul and Director for Canada of the Israel Ministry of Tourism. "We are not far off our record numbers for 2019 and we anticipate that the growth in the number of travelers to Israel will further increase as Canadians continue to feel more confident about traveling internationally."

Israel has welcomed more than 4.6 million tourists from abroad in the year 2019 and this included 969.600 being from the United States. In May 2018, Israel opened its doors to all visitors, regardless whether they're vaccination-free. Israel has already hosted more than 600,000.
