Playing Minecraft: Pocket Edition alone is plenty fun, but add some friends to your screen and it's even better. This that or the other Here's how.

Before you try to multi-play, download the game's latest version (0.12.1) so you and your friends have the latest up-to-date features; the game costs $6.99 USD.

Playing Minecraft Pocket Edition locally

Playing locally means that you and your friends (up to five players) can play within the same world-but only when you're all connected to the same Wi-Fi connection. Switch the "Local Server Multiplayer” switch to on in your game settings.

First, choose which world you want to play and then load the game on that person’s device. This will be the host.

To allow your friends join, they need to tap "play", and then select the new (highlighted in blue), world that appears at their top.

That's it; they're in! Get ready for digging, creating, exploring, or running around chasing creepers-whatever your interests are.

Connect to Minecraft Pocket Edition gaming server

Servers are a great option if you want to play with multiple players on different Wi-Fi connections.

Servers are online worlds that players around the world have created and which have been open to all players.

Many of these servers require registration, while others are open to everyone. To find a server, try MinecraftPocket-Servers or Minecraft Pocket Edition Servers and browse for a world that you'd like to join.
