At FKK, we hear this question fairly frequently. This really isn't surprising. There are nudists spread out throughout the U.S., and not everyone has a bare beach or naturist resort or club nearby. Even if they do, some can't manage to join their local naturist club or don't have the transportation to get there.
We have some ideas to share for joining with fellow nudists both online and off line.
Assembly Nudists Offline
If you haven't already, see if there are any alternative places nearby for a nudie to visit besides a club or resort.
Examples of alternative nudie environments:
- Swimming holes or areas in nature that have a convention of skinny dipping, like ponds, rivers and lakes in national parks or woods. The site swimmingholes.org has a complete list of swimming holes throughout the nation (though we do not know how frequently it gets updated). It's both textile and naked regions, so seek out the ones specifically noted to have a skinny dipping custom. Keep in mind that the folks who frequent these areas do not necessarily call themselves naturists. Since these areas are often free and open to the general public, they bring all kinds of people. But if other folks are there skinny dipping, you clearly have a common interest!
- If you're into yoga, then check out your local naked yoga courses. Many times unclothed yoga instructors will sponsor classes in a local studio and not at a nearby nudist club. These courses can form a community when the exact same individuals return week after week.
- Bare spas. Why Do People Love Naked Sunbathing? of locations are probably the least conducive to meeting folks. They're typically gender-segregated and lots of people are just there to relax and unwind never to make friends. But if the vibe is appropriate, it can still be a spot to meet like minded people.


Just how to meet nudists & make nudie pals
These aren't naturist occasions, but they do bring nudies and folks who are open to naturist tasks.
How to meet naturist folks there: I know it can be intimidating to approach strangers, even if you're both nude and enjoying the exact same actions. It seems to be especially challenging for single men, who are, regrettably, most often suspect before they even say a word.
Being with a buddy can make the experience more relaxing and fun. It may give you more confidence and even give you more legality when it comes to how others see you. (Hate to say it, but if you are a man, a girl will probably be more open to speaking to you if you're accompanied by a female buddy.)
Should youn't have a buddy to follow you to a nudie location, (because duh, that is why you are going there to begin with), try looking for an excuse to start a conversation with others you can request someone to take your picture (without getting others in the backdrop of course), or see if they're a regular there and ask them a few questions about the region. If conversation is strained or they clearly desire to be left alone, it is far better politely end the conversation and proceed.

You can also try meeting locals through nudist social networks and forums. Most of these sites are rudimentary and badly designed. However, they're still free and used by naturists all around the world.

The Naktiv Nook - www.naktiv.net This is among the newer social networks for nudists, but it appears to be doing nicely, as they say they have now reached 4,000 members. This network has a odd policy against dull selfies, but it's otherwise one to look into.
This network was developed in France. I have never used it, but have no reason to consider it is not legitimate.

Despite Facebook's draconian censorship policies against nudity, there are many nudist groups on there. We now have a chief FKK group of over 6,000 people (and growing quickly!) from all over the world. Members are welcome to post intros of themselves in the group and make local new naturist friends by asking who else is in their region.
We also have secret local groups for individuals in the Tri State area (NY, NJ, PA) and for upstate New York, in addition to a secret group just for girls.

FKK Is Getting Nude For Charity! .com is a good website to begin with. It costs $12 / month for group coordinators, though you could recoup this cost by charging a group membership or charging for some Meetups. (It's otherwise free to use for non-organizers.) It may be wise to have a free, clothed meet-up at a nearby cafe as a preliminary assembly. This would create a less intimidating environment for potential newbies and would also assist you to screen individuals for naked events.
You can also create a Facebook group and promote it in other naturist / naturist Facebook groups.

The edges of a closed group are that individuals can find it in Facebook hunts and you are able to share it by linking to it. The disadvantage is that you will need to work harder to screen arbitrary people who request to join.
